Reading your Jeddah story made me laugh in recognition — I have also driven across a city chasing a parcel that tracking said was damaged when the box was barely scratched. Your tip about phoning rather than trusting the status is spot on. At home in the UK I had a smaller version of the same thing on a Sunday: I was waiting in for a spare part, convinced nothing moves at the weekend, until a friend sent me the page explaining Evri deliver on Sunday and the courier knocked that same Sunday morning. Since then I do exactly what you recommend here — check the weekend and local network details before I panic, photograph everything, and keep the documents twice over.
